Welcome to 2021 and the year of the Ox in the Chinese horoscope. Here are some fun facts about the Ox.

New year brings new opportunities and we’ve certainly taken that to heart with a new direction and our third interactive project underway – it’s going to be a very exciting year.

Whilst the world continues to deal with calamities, Australia being so far away from everyone seemingly has things under control and while we had minor outbreaks here and there – its all systems go and there is a lot to feel optimistic about.

The RBA figures in December showed that Australians have slashed the national credit card bill to $19.71 billion in October – the first time debt accruing interest has dropped below $20 billion in almost 16 years. And subsequently, the property market has risen in most states with interest rates being at record lows.

So where to from here as there is even talk of a property market boom rather than what was being predicted in April and May last year that if the lockdown continued, then there might be price falls of up to 30% across the board. Just makes me think that property commentators are too focused on the short term – but in the long term, real estate in Australia is a “sacred cow” that the government and RBA will not let crash.

This month we are also starting a new series of videos on furniture staging for project marketing. Tim Wood from BoConcept Adelaide and Transforma furniture, a luxury furniture manufacturer, discusses how property developers can utilise a design-led furniture fitout in display suites – click here to check out the first video in the series.

And the showcase project for the month is Dockside on the Quay – a luxury 12 apartment project on the Burnett River in Bundaberg which we completed late last year.

Good luck with the month ahead and to your development success,

Stan Zaslavsky.
